Prayer for Grief from Loss
Heavenly Father,
Thank you so much for promising to be my comforter. Thank you for your love and protection. Thank you for reminding me that I am not ever alone because you will never leave me (Deu 31:6).
I feel like my life is crumbling. Things did not go the way I expected them to. I was not expecting this loss. Lord please be my comfort right now. I don’t know how I can go on. I just don’t understand. Nothing makes sense.
But even through all of this, I will praise you because I know you are good (Psa 136:1). I know that you have a greater plan in motion that I do not understand because my plans are not your plans (Isa 55:8). I know you will be with me and never forsake me. Help me stay focused on you so I don’t sink into this sea of grief. Be my rock and my fortress (Psa 18:2). I know when I am weak, You are strong (2 Cor 12:9) and I really need strength today.
Help me. Jesus please wrap your arms around me and let me feel you close.
