Even though I hate to admit it, I am pretty much a control freak…and when something happens, I take on a responsibility to “fix” it even when its not my problem to fix. Sometimes I’m even delusional in thinking things won’t work out if I don’t get involved! So, I wrote this prayer as a reminder that I’m not the CEO of the world. I don’t have to carry that weight. I just need to trust in Him.
Prayer for Patience
Heavenly Father,
You alone created the heavens and the earth with your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you. (Jerm 32:17) Everything was made by You, through You, for You (John 1:3).
I will remember that You alone are Lord (Neh 9:6). I will remember that my thoughts are not Your thoughts, neither are my ways Your ways. (Isa 55:8) Even if it seems like nothing is happening, I will be still and know YOU are Lord (Psa 46:10) and I am not. I will commit my way to You. I will trust in You and be still before You and wait patiently for You (Psa 37:5,7).
Your plans are infinitely better than my plans. I will trust in You, no matter what.
Thank you Lord. You alone are Lord.
