This year, I’ve enrolled both of my kids in a brand new school. Not only is it a brand new school to them, but its a brand new charter school, period. And these first couple of days have been pretty rocky with the kids learning each other (middle school and high school) and also the school just learning what to do vs what not to do. With all the current events going on in schools today, a prayer for protection is high on my list. I wrote this prayer for them.
Prayer for Protection
Lord,
Thank you for protecting me and my family. Thank you for listening to my prayers.
Please send angels to guard and protect my children. You say in your word that You are our comfort and our strength. You are my refuge (Psa 46:1). Lord, keep them safe. When I start to feel worried I will remember that your word says not to worry, but instead to cast my fears on You.
Send angels all around my kids to let them know they are always safe. You promise to never leave them or forsake them. Be in the middle of every situation so they never feel alone. Strengthen and protect them from evil (2 Thes 3:3). Protect them from trouble (Psa 32:7). Separate anyone that is trying to do them harm. Keep them surrounded by positive influences and let them be encouragers for others who may need it.
Send an overwhelming sense of peace to them (and also to me!). Cover them with your feathers and let them find refuge under your wings when they are afraid or feel alone (Psa 91:4). Your word says to ask and I shall receive (Matt 7:7), I am asking for a hedge of protection around my children.
Thank you for being my solid rock. Thank you for honoring your promises.
