Sometimes things seem absolutely unbearable. I have been here. And at the time, its hard to think that things could ever be better, but they will. Please hang on. I hope this prayer lets you know that you have someone who loves you, who can change any situation.
Prayer for Suicidal Thoughts
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for letting me come to You any time of the day or night with any problem. Thank you for being my personal counselor. Right now, I need You. I need to feel You close to me right now. Send your angels of protection to guard me. Open my eyes and let me SEE You because right now I feel so alone.
I just want everything to stop. Everything feels so hard right now. It feels like there is no way out of this, like things could never possibly change. And yet, I KNOW your word says that for You, nothing is impossible (Luk 1:37).
You have come so that I can live my life to the fullest (Joh 10:10), so any thought that I’m having contrary to that would not be coming from You. Lord, You have given me power to take every thought captive and command them to be obedient to You. I exercise that power right now. I command every thought to be obedient to You (2 Cor 10:5).
Help me cast my cares on You and remind me that You promise I will never be shaken (Psa 55:22). Remind me that greater is He that is in me than the he that is in the world (1 Joh 4:4).
There is no condemnation for anyone in Christ (Rom 8:1), which means there is no sin that is too big that You cannot forgive. There is nothing that can separate me from your love (Rom 8:38). No matter what I’ve done, You love me.
Help me be strong and courageous. Remind me that I am not supposed to be afraid because YOU are with me (Josh 1:9). Nothing is unfixable, nothing is too far gone. You can turn ANY situation around. Lord, please hear my prayers. Your words says “ask and you shall receive” (Mat 7:7). I am asking for your overwhelming peace and comfort. You promise to deliver me from all my troubles (Psa 34:19), please hear my prayers.
Lord, I need hope. Work in my life. Open my eyes and let me see You working all around me.
