Prayer for Waiting for an Answer
Lord,
Thank you for your word. Thank you for letting me trust in You and what You have already promised me.
Its hard to remain calm when you are in the middle of the waiting period. The period of time from when I laid my problems at your feet to when the breakthrough actually happens. This time is devastating. The wait feels unbearable.
Every day it feels like I’m on the verge of breakdown. But, I know that I am never alone. You walk with me (Psa 23). Through this time I will remember what Psalms 40:1-3 says, “I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and mire.”
I will remember that those who wait upon the Lord will be renewed in strength (Isa 40:31). I will not grow weary. I will be strong and courageous (Josh 1:9). I will trust the plans you have for me because I know they are far better than anything I could imagine (Jer 29:11). And, I will trust that You will work this very situation for good (Rom 8:28).
Comfort me as a wait.
