Prayer for Worry
Dear Lord,
Thank you for your promises. Thank you for your sovereignty. When things start to spin out of control and I begin to obsess and worry and fear and feel anxious and and feel like I am sinking in a deep deep hole, I will take a deep breath and remember:
- that you are close to to the broken hearted. (Psa 34:18)
- that I am holy and blameless before you. (Col 1:22)
- that I am forgiven. (1 John 1:9)
- that you have forgotten my sins. (Isa 43:25)
- that I am your child. (Gal 3:26)
- that I am a citizen from heaven. (Phil 3:20
- that I am chosen by You. (1 Pet 2:9)
- that You will work all things for my good. (Rom 8:28)
- that You say, ask and you shall receive. (Matt 7:7)
- that you have plans for my future. (Jer 29:11)
- that I have nothing to fear because You are with me. (Josh 1:9)
- that I can take every single thought captive and make them obedient to You. (2 Cor 10:5)
- that I can give you my burdens and You will give me rest. (Matt 11:28)
Instead of panic and worry and distress, I will remember:
- to be still and let YOU fight for me. (Exo 14:14)
- to praise you because you inhabit the praise of your people. (Psa 22:3)
Thank you. Flood me with your peace that transcends understanding. Protect me under your wings.
