Its so hard sometimes to move forward, especially when you’ve made a mistake or are full of regret. There are so many things I start replaying over and over again that I shouldn’t have said or shouldn’t have done. But, all that just serves to keep you paralyzed, immobile and not moving forward. I wrote this prayer when I was obsessing about the past.
Prayer for Obsessing about Past
Lord,
Thank you for rescuing me from my pit of sin. Thank you for your forgiveness and your mercy.
I will remember every day that there is now no condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus (Rom 8:1). I will remember that you have given me the power to take captive every thought and command it to obey you. (2 Cor 10:5)
I will leave the past behind and stretch forward to the future ahead, looking forward and never back. I will forget what is behind and strain toward what is ahead. (Phil 3:13)
I will meditate every day on whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely. (Phil 4:8)
Thank you for giving me the power to pray. Thank you for your promises. Thank you for promising to listen to the prayers of the righteous.
In Jesus name I pray. Amen
